are probably the second largest purchase that we make, next to our houses.
Many cars
produced these days include a car alarm system or immobiliser, but if
your doesn't then you may choose to install an aftermarket car security
system. In fact, fitting one of the many car alarms and car tracking devices
can pay for itself in the form of reduced car

Car security
tips
| • |
Do not
carry vehicle documentation in your car. It will be much easier for
a thief to sell on your car if they have the relevant documentation |
| • |
Never
leave or travel with your personal belongings on the passenger or
rear seat of the car. If you have to then ensure that your doors are
locked to prevent a thief from opening them and stealing goods whilst
your car is not moving (for instance at traffic lights) |
| • |
Never
leave your keys in the car |
| • |
Remove
your radio / cassette / CD player or facia if possible |
| • |
Lock
your car every time you leave it - even when only leaving the car
for a few seconds (for example when paying for fuel ) |
| • |
Do use
steering lock or gear lock to safeguard your vehicle |
